Pricing update on Microsoft Cloud services

Pricing update on Microsoft Cloud services

Starting April 1, 2023 Microsoft will update the prices of its cloud services by 11%.

That's right, Microsoft is taking several steps to align the pricing of Microsoft Cloud products globally. This means customers will have consistent pricing that reflects the local currency to U.S. dollar (USD) exchange rate in order to provide greater transparency and predictability.

This pricing update in the Euro Zone will apply to Microsoft Cloud services including Azure and Microsoft 365 and will affect all new customers and existing customers with subscription period renewal dates after April 1, 2023 by adjusting to the following currencies:

  • GBP: +9%
  • DKK, EUR y NOK: +11%
  • SEK: +15%

What will the price update of Microsoft Cloud services consist of?
How will it affect new subscribers?

All new subscribers as of April 1, 2023 will benefit from Microsoft's new pricing update, regardless of their service, length of stay or billing method.

How will it affect customers whose subscription is annual?

Active annual subscriptions will maintain the price of their contract until the time of their contract renewal, at which time the update will be applied (provided it is after April 1, 2023), being able to reduce or increase the number of licenses they wish to purchase at any time.

How will this affect customers with monthly subscriptions?

In this case, the same policy will apply as for new subscribers, in which they will have to take advantage of the new price update from Microsoft.

What services will be affected by this price update?

To all licensing programs (CSP, Enterprise Agreement, Open Value, MPSA, MOSP and Web), Azure customers still using CSP Legacy, or those Azure pay-as-you-go models.

All customers already using Azure through NCE will not be affected as pricing is calculated based on US dollars with currency exchange rates updated on a monthly basis and there will be no price adjustment for customers with on premises licenses.
