The Official Language School of La Orotava, located on the island of Tenerife (Spain), had to overcome multiple challenges during last year's health confinement in order to guarantee its pedagogical and operational continuity, among them, to be able to continue teaching its more than 1,000 students remotely.

The drive and eagerness of the management team of this public educational center to find a solution that would allow it to carry out its work effectively remotely, together with the instructions of the Canary Islands Government's Department of Education to guarantee pedagogical continuity during this time, was a decisive turning point for the center.

Solution

Working in collaboration with Intelequia, La EOI de la Orotava relied on Microsoft 365 solutions to boost the digitization of its educational center and meet the training needs of its more than 1,000 students completely remotely, allowing them to attend more than 1,500 calls during that period.

Throughout this journey in the cloud, the EOI of La Orotava has managed to generate a precedent in the future of training accessibility, guaranteeing pedagogical continuity during a time of health crisis. However, some of its major milestones achieved have been, among others, the management of more than 1,500 calls remotely during lockdown thanks to the Microsoft Teams Phone System.

In the last 10 months since their digitalization process, they have increased by 10,000% their personal storage capacity with OneDrive, and by 500% their general storage capacity with SharePoint; in turn, the school has been able to remotely conduct more than 500 hours of classes and share more than 28,610 messages through Microsoft Teams.
